BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Jauary 19, 2026 – Musashi Energy Solutions (MES), a leading developer of Hybrid SuperCapacitor (HSC) cells and systems for mission-critical backup power, has teamed with Central Power Systems & Services as an authorized distributor for its innovative ESS400 Energy Storage Solution. Musashi’s ESS400 will be on display with a Staco Energy UPS in Central Power’s booth #1618 during POWERGEN ’26 in San Antonio, Texas.

The ESS400 is a plug-and-play power backup system powered by Musashi’s proprietary Hybrid SuperCapacitor (HSC) technology, specifically designed for data centers and AI workloads. The energy storage system replaces traditional batteries used in 3-phase UPSs, such as those from Staco Energy Products. This collaboration integrates Musashi’s pioneering technology with Central Power’s system expertise to deliver a safe, cost-effective energy solution to customers.

“Central Power has earned the trust of data centers of all sizes by delivering dependable power solutions for both new construction and expansion projects. The Hybrid SuperCapacitor technology that Musashi brings is innovative, safe, environmentally friendly, compact, and, most importantly, reliable, noted Mike Lux, Director of Project Development for Central Power Systems & Services. “It fills a critical gap in energy storage, solving the specific density and safety challenges that many of our customers are facing. We’re proud to be among the first to bring this groundbreaking technology to market, and we believe it’s just the beginning.”

Musashi’s HSC technology combines the high-power speed of a capacitor with the energy endurance of a lithium-ion battery. This combination creates a powerful storage device that can charge and discharge instantly while lasting up to 15 years without the fire risks or frequent replacements associated with traditional batteries.

“Central Power has always been about solving problems for customers, and Musashi’s technology adds a critical new capability to support that mission,” explained Alan Forster, Senior Director Sales – Americas for Musashi. “Our Hybrid SuperCapacitor-based ESS400 expands Central Power’s portfolio beyond standard equipment, offering forward-looking consultative energy solutions that meet the demands of modern infrastructure.

POWERGEN attendees will be able to view and discuss Central Power’s power backup solutions and learn how Musashi’s energy storage system works seamlessly with three-phase UPS systems. Pairing UPSs with the ESS400 provides data center operators with greater safety, reliability, and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than traditional lead-acid and lithium batteries.
