MUSASI’S HYBRID SUPERCAPACITOR (HSC) BASED ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM.

Our Hybrid SuperCapacitor technology surpasses battery-based alternatives in performance, reliability, safety, maintenance and costs. Boasting an impressive 15-year+ operational lifespan our ESS400 Systems effectively mitigate the thermal runaway hazards (fire) commonly associated with lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) while avoiding the use of toxic lead acid in high-maintenance, valve-regulated lead-acid batteries (VRLAs). And our approach to highly reliable backup power offers lower Cap-EX costs and significant reductions in Op-EX over other energy storage methods.

Packaged in a compact 24″ wide cabinet, the scalable system offers 400kW with up to 10,000 kW/seconds of energy storage per cabinet. The ESS400 incorporates our power-dense CPP4100SA prismatic cells in easy-access modules with room for input/output cabling, disconnects and includes an energy management system with modbus communication. This configuration makes our ESS400 ideal for 3-phase UPS applications where space is at a premium, reliability is everything and lowering CAP-EX and OP-EX is a must.

FAST BRIDGE TIME TO GENERATORS

The ESS400 ability to back-up critical load to allow transition to generators (15 to 60 seconds) is key, rendering longer backup times wasteful in cost, space, and maintenance.

Extended Operating Temperature Range

Our convection cooled HSCs adapt to a wide 0ºC to 40ºC temperature range, aligning with data centers’ higher temperature environments and reducing cooling requirements compared to battery-based installations.

Higher Power Density

Musashi’s HSCs lead in power density, crucial for energy-intensive operations like AI, virtualization, and bitcoin mining within high-performance IT servers.
